The first lake reached after climbing down from Gardiner Pass is small and comfortable.

The first group of lakes glowing in the late afternoon light was clearly visible from Gardiner Pass. But there are so many lakes and not all of them can be seen from the pass.

Off the beaten path, climbing down from the cliffs one finds this hidden gem of a lake. The vast mosquito population challenged the documentation of this magical place.

Just because it's hidden doesn't mean it's small. There are several huge lakes in the vicinity that can be found by some exploration. This one is at UTM 11 367050E 4074429N maintaining its waters at around 11080 feet of elevation.
